My old alma mater, Northern Illinois University, held their 1st Annual Summer Grass Triples Tournament on June 20th. Tony Jachera, Chad Neimi, Jeff Henry, and myself (all NIU alumni) took 1st place out of 24 teams. It was a great time to enjoy the old stomping grounds with all of my friends!
This is my new dog Guinness. He is a bichon mix and is 2 years old. I named him Guinness because Kylie was looking for an Irish name and I said “Car Bomb,” but that didn’t fit. So I just said Guinness to be funny, but it’s a cool name and it was St. Patrick’s Day, so it fit pretty well. He doesn’t bark, whine, pee or poo in the house (yet) and he doesn’t shed. He’s really cool and listens pretty well. So far he’s a great dog! ->another picture
This weekend I proposed to Kylie in San Diego! I took her to the ocean after dinner and asked her at La Jolla Beach. Everything went really smooth and we were both very excited. You can view more at the website I made for us at oliverandkylie.com
“I’m a P.I.M.P! I don’t know what chu heard about me…” Kylie and I are in San Diego visiting her friend Sarah and her roommate Kelly. So far we went bike riding to the beach and ate lunch right on the coastline. We were people watching for about an hour and saw dolphins jumping out of the water. Later, we went to Cabo and had 2 for 1 mojito doubles and yes…I had a huge burrito at the end of the night. More updates later tonight…
Here is a friends and family Gap/Banana/Old Navy coupon good for 30% off your total purchase from March 12th – March 15th. Just print this out and present it to cashier.
Hello everybody! It’s time for the infamous Northside Shocker’s Fundraiser! This year it’s going to be held at Krem next weekend on March 14th, 2009, from 9pm – 11pm. I know what you’re thinking, it’s only 2 hours…but remember, it’s St. Patty’s Day weekend, and $30 is nothing to what you would spend at another bar that night. Plus, this is the post party for one of the biggest volleyball tournaments in Chicago, the Windy City Invitational. I hope you can join us!

So I’ve been trying to adopt a dog for the past couple of days and they finally got back to me. I have an appointment tomorrow morning to meet Charlie! He is a 5 month old Maltese/Poodle Mix. I am the first of two applicants, so hopefully they decide to give him to me! This would be the coolest birthday present. I’ll update more tomorrow…
UPDATE…didn’t get the dog ![]()
I love this time of year! Why do you ask? Because my birthday is coming up, it’s St. Patrick’s Day, and the Shamrock Shake! This shake is sooo delicious! Take a look at the nutrition facts. 17 grams of protein!! Eff making a protein shake at home or buying protein powder at GNC (Bilski, Joe). I’m going to McDonald’s for some Shamrock Shake deliciousness!
Twitter is another free social networking application that I just signed up for. The basic function of it is to tell others anything you want, whenever you want. Think of it as a status update. Since most of my friends have a blackberry or an iphone, I think it would be fun to see what everyone is up to. I also have it linked to my website so I can update my twitter feed in real time. Anyway, give it a try…I think Twitter is going to be as popular as facebook really soon.
Tonight I met up with my cousin Jackie who was visiting from New York. She invited me to her friend Tom’s birthday party at Lucky Strike. Yes, Tom Higgenson from the Plain White T’s! He’s a very cool guy and it was really nice of him to let us eat, drink, and bowl with his close friends and family. He’s also a vegetarian, which Kylie liked, because none of the food had meat in it.
Jackie’s boyfriend, Justin, was also there. His brother, Ryan Star, just opened for David Cook in Valparaiso, IN. I bowled a game with them and scored 121…very sad. I even brought my bowling shoes that I just bought. Ryan kicked my ass with his whopping score of 125! I guess I need new shoes
During our snowmobiling trip, we stopped at this bar and they had snow golf on the frozen lake – $5 for nine holes. You get one club of choice, one tennis ball, and you can order a twelve pack to take with you. It takes about an hour to complete. I chipped it in out of the rough twice for back to back eagles!
